Jason Smith is a 20-year Internet entrepreneur with experience building, advising and investing in early stage technology companies. He recently launched Klue, a competitive intelligence platform that enables companies to collect, curate and share competitive intel across their organization. Previously, Jason served as President of SaaS based research community provider Vision Critical, helping the company grow from 10-person start-up to 500+ person market leader with 600+ clients including Staples, BBC, Nestle and Conde Nast. Prior to Vision Critical, Jason was an active investor in GAIA, a direct to consumer ecommerce provider of custom sports apparel, served as Vice President of Electronic Arts, and co-founded buyzoo.com, an early B2C group buying exchange. Jason launched his first Internet start-up in 1994, co-founding Columbus Group Communications, a 100 person digital agency pioneer acquired by TELUS in 2001. Jason graduated with honours in Marketing from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, is the recipient of Ernst and Young’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, BDC’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40, founding board member of NewMedia BC, past board member of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum, and is an advisor to Garibaldi Capital, Strutta (acquired by LX Ventures), CrowdEmotion and Mobify.  In 2012, Jason bought four around-the-world plane tickets and travelled through 13 countries with his wife and two daughters.
